Emma (she/her/hers) is a warm and dedicated Clinical Psychologist who offers evidence-based psychological therapy for children, adolescents and adults. Emma works collaboratively with her clients to build insights, skills and self-esteem that sets them up for happy and meaningful lives.

Emma holds a Masters of Clinical Psychology from UTS, and a Bachelor of Psychology with First Class Honours from Macquarie University. She is fully registered and endorsed as a Clinical Psychologist by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). 

 

Emma has clinical experience across the private and public sectors. In addition to her private practice, she has worked as a Clinical Psychologist in an NGO community mental health service, in public health (with the Child Youth Mental Health Service [CYMHS]), and also as a school psychologist.

Alongside clinical practice, Emma has designed and delivered therapy groups, including Dialectic Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and social anxiety groups for adolescents. She also delivers information seminars about mental health and wellbeing, on topics including child and adolescent development, the management of social media and gaming, and parenting anxious children. 

 

Emma's research has investigated the impact of high conflict separations on children, and motivations for risk taking behaviour in young people. She was also a clinician in a clinical trial comparing approaches for the management of behavioural challenges in children.

What to expect:

​In the first appointment, Emma will work with you to understand your unique experiences, strengths and challenges. She will help you to develop insight and clarity around your concerns, what might be keeping them going, and the ways that they may be addressed. She will assist you to set meaningful goals and gain a sense of how these may be achieved. She will discuss with you whether this may take a few sessions, or involve longer term work.

Emma offers evidence-based therapeutic interventions, matched to the client's unique strengths and preferences. Emma has a warm, collaborative, authentic and professional style.

- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

- Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

- Schema Therapy

- Attachment Based Family Therapy

- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (including mindfulness)

​NB For children and adolescents: Parent involvement in a young person's treatment is highly valued. The extent and format of parent involvement is determined by the individual young person's needs.  

Fees and availability:

Medicare card holders are eligible for a $141.65 rebate per session for up to 10 sessions per calendar year, via a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP. Please contact Emma to discuss fees.
